Maria Eugenia is a Registered Dietitian – Nutritionist with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Keiser University in Pembroke Pines, Florida. During her internship, she worked in Miami’s most prestigious hospitals including: Baptist Hospital and Miami Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Through her internship and later her clinical practice Eugenia found her passion in helping people with a variety of illnesses learn how to manage their disease symptoms with nutrition and using the right foods to improve their quality of life. Eugenia has always had a passion for eating healthy and incorporating a healthy lifestyle. She understands how the development of chronic disease is significantly caused by poor nutrition and obesity. As a seasoned counselor providing nutritional counseling for a number of years, Eugenia’s joy is found in assisting others to feel healthier, lose weight and manage disease. Her areas of interest include digestive disease, weight management and bariatric surgery, pediatrics, food allergies, geriatrics and diabetes. As an avid public speaker, Eugenia worked with the Healthy Weight Alliance to spread the message on the necessity to improve menu selections at Miami restaurants. She went on to assist restaurants in adapting their menus to include healthier options by simply modifying recipes while ensuring great taste. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as well as the Nutrition Entrepreneur Dietetic practice group. She is fluent in Spanish and English.

Maria graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. She has 10+ years of experience in community nutrition and long term care. She is an experienced program coordinator for evidence based programs specializing in chronic disease and diabetes self -management. She has worked as a coordinator for a non-for profit agency reaching over 3000 participants in the South Florida community. Maria is an experienced clinical dietitian for long term care and rehabilitation facilities; providing medical nutrition therapy. She also conducts parent nutrition workshops for after school programs in the Homestead area. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She is fluent in Spanish and English.
Maria is a proud mom of three girls and she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She was born in Managua, Nicaragua and grew up in Miami, FL. She understands that there is no diet that fits all; nutrition must be individualized to a person’s specific condition and cultural background. She has a passion for children as well as the geriatric community. As a care giver to an aging parent, she understands the challenges associated with balancing a healthy lifestyle and managing a disease. As a mother she understands the struggles of dealing with picky eaters and the challenges of introducing healthy new foods in a fun way. Maria volunteers at her church in the children’s ministry every other Sunday where she shares her love for God.
Maria’s vision is to be able to use her nutrition expertise to guide others in achieving their nutrition/healthy lifestyle goals. She believes in being a resource to the community educating as to what sound nutrition means; striving to form long lasting healthy changes in our eating habits. She challenges her clients to have a love for food that nourishes their bodies to fulfill their potential. She aspires to pursue Certification as a Diabetes Educator and to be proactive in combating childhood obesity.
