Samantha's story is unique as a Registered Dietitian and Licensed Nutritionist- her compassion for helping people comes from her life experience as well as her education. Samantha Barone is a 10-year veteran to a quarter-life crisis. After graduating from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Multimedia Journalism, Samantha was morbidly obese, depressed and lost. She had struggled with her weight and lacked self-confidence her entire life. At age 25, Samantha decided to get healthy and gain control of her life. At more than 350lbs, Samantha decided to undergo Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass surgery, which was the catalyst needed to find her destined path in life.
In the years that followed, Samantha shed over 150lbs and enrolled at Keiser University to once again change her life for the better. Since graduating Magna cum Laude in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and Nutrition, Samantha has worked as a clinical dietitian in a distinguished level 1 trauma center, providing Medical Nutrition Therapy to patients with a multitude of disease states and conditions. Samantha also serves as the outpatient Bariatric Dietitian for a rapidly growing Surgical Weight Loss Program counseling patients with many different comorbidities, including Diabetes, Hypertension, Sleep Apnea and high cholesterol. Her work counseling bariatric patients throughout their new path is what motivates her to continue to become the best version of herself she can be.
Samantha is fiercely passionate about using her own life experience to show her clients that it’s never too late to get healthy. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, and the Obesity Action Coalition. Samantha believes in a realistic approach to nutrition counseling and provides dietary guidance based on each client’s individual needs.
